well this is the second time my band has slipped after a fill.  I'm now going in for a VSG, but not till next month.  The problem is things are getting worse, I'm having lower back pain (which I'm not sure if it's related), I'm not able to keep much food down.  If I eat at night when I wake up in the morning some of the food is coming up first thing.  I have knot in my stomach when I drink water, i go for a swallow test tomorrow, but I just can't afford to move the surgery date up.  Did anyone have anything similar?  Any suggestions that I can try?

What do you mean it slipped? how do you know? How is the VSG? I think my band has a leak. it hurt horribly when she was trying to find the top of the port to give me a fill. She used 3 needles. 1st one bent when she was looking for the top of the port. I lost 1cc of liquid since october. She put in 5cc's again and im going back in 6 weeks to see if i still have 5cc's. If I am losing liquid I dont know what there going to do! im kinda scared!

I am so sorry that this has happened to you, and yes, I agree that VSG would be wise. Some people just don't tolerate the band. I wish there was a way to tell in advance. It wouldn't work for those who just abuse their bands but it would be great if it could warn those like you. Keep us posted. Let us know how the swallow test goes.

Is there any way you can get in sooner than next month to get this taken care of?  You shouldn't have to suffer.

I can't help you with the not being able to eat comfortably... I don't know what to tell you, other than band removal... which you're already doing. BUT, the pain you're experiencing... try a heating pad either on your back or under your ribcage. A ho****er bottle can help too. It kind of soothes the nerves at least a little bit.

Good luck. I'd really try to get in sooner, if I were you. I hope you feel better soon. And good luck with the VSG.

I had one slip repaired and the second time was very painful.  Went to the hospital via 911 and ambulance.  Similar, couldn't get anything to go down and it was the worst pain I had ever experienced...way worse than my back surgery for herniated disk.  I wish you well.

Did your doctor remove ALL of your fill or just a little to help you keep some restriction?  I'd have the fill entirely removed, if there is still any in it.
