Re-defining my comfort zone
For the first two years after deciding I needed to stop losing weight, my comfort zone was 145-148. But it was hard to stay there! So I upped it, first to 148-154, then 154-158. Easy to stay there, albeit at the top end. Stayed there ( apart from the time of having a leak) for the next two years.
Well I decided to lose some weight before Christmas so I could over-indulge then!! Starting point 158.
Well today I am 147 - down 11lbs. And it feels GOOD! So I am going to move my c.z. down again. 145-150 from now on!
So those who ask if the band can still work after 5 years- you bet your life it can!

Highest 290, Banded - 248 Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.
Happily banded since May 2006. Regain of 28lbs 2013-14. ALL GONE!
But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,
I think comfort zones change when we reach them. I know that when I lost weight in 2005-2006 I was feeling great. Odd that I could feel 5 extra pounds and feel uncomfortable, but when 100 pounds crept back on I was oblivious. Now looking for a new comfort zone.
I'm glad to see that at 5 years out you can stil work it. That gives us newbies much hope and optimism for the life of our bands!
Edited to add: Awesome that you lost 11 pounds 5 years out as well. That must feel great going into the holidays with that fantastic feeling!!!

You go, Kate! Congrats on losing that extra. I am doing the same thing. I feel like at my present weight which is a bit higher than the comfort zone I set for myself but is pretty easy to stay in if I don't go bingeing. However, since I know I will eat some extra things at Christmas and for about a week more, I don't want to go higher, and am working to get down some.
I have been 100% sugar free for 3 days and had been a lot better for several days prior( I have to do it this way, (for me). I have not weighed yet but am sure I am down a bit. It would be so easy to let it go since my clothes all fit as well as they did at my lowest. That was not what I wanted when I started this journey and it is not what I want or intend now. Keep up the good work and thanks for letting us in on it.

Awsome Kate! I have been trying to loose some weight before Christmas and haven't really done it. I went on a trip to Europe in Oct., then Thanksgiving. I've had a hard time refocusing. I still have 2 weeks to get at least a few pounds off. I am 15 above my target weight at this point. It's a little scary. Boy does it come back on easy.
