An important REMINDER about "medical advice"!
A gentle reminder-slash-warning: You should always assume that no one on this or any other OH forum is a certified, licensed medical professional, regardless of what they may say. There are, of course, one of two people who are licensed medical professionals, but the overwhelming majority of people who will present medical "advice" have no medical training.
Alongside people who genuinely want to help you, OH is just like the rest of the internet in that there are people who do not know whereof they speak, may not have your best interests at heart, and may even be posting "medical information" for total amusement.
For MEDICAL ADVICE, consult your own medical team: surgeon, nutritionist, primary care physician.
To put it bluntly: there may be any number of people here who will present medical "facts", "studies", "statistics", etc. that may or may not be true, accurate or up-to-date. The person or persons who present such information may or may not (and, most likely, will not) have any medical training or background whatsoever.
You should ALWAYS rely, first and foremost, on your own medical team (surgeon, primary care physician, nutritionist) for information and corroboration of anything you read here or elsewhere on the internet. As an 8-year lapband veteran and OH member, I suggest to you that you always keep this in mind when reading and, especially, following medical advice presented here.
A further reminder from OH's Terms of Service (TOS):
Before ordering a product or service or taking the advice or information from any person, you are advised to seek verification of that advice as well as consult your surgeon or personal physician.
