Nausea at night anyone?

This is what I think is happening..... Any similar experiences?

I have catarrh, not bad, not a full blown cold, not blowing my nose, just mucus in my head. I very rarely get colds and so this may even be the first since being banded.

In the day I am fine but at night feel queasy. I prop myself up on pillows but unless I stay upright, the nausea persists. It is back of the throat nausea. It isn't heartburn or acid reflux and I am not the tiniest bit tight, on the contrary.

My belief is that mucus is trickling down my throat. In the daytime, gravity lets it go, but in bed, it is pooling above the band. ( How revolting!)

Seem likely?

Kate.

Kate could you have sinus infections ?  I have never had one but my mom gets them all the time .   She had to go and get some high dose drugs to get rid of hers .  She didnt sneeze , and like you didnt have the running nose.

Other then that I really dont know .  I hope you feel better soon .

Steelerfan, thanks for replying.. I'm not all worried about the illness part- it really is just one of those very mild winter things, no pain or illness.

I was just curious to know if people have found this ( possible) effect of night time nausea caused by mucus pooling above the band.

 Hi Kate,

Right now I have some sinus stuff going on too.  I have had it for over a week and had to sleep propped up because I noticed I was kind of "gagging" from the nasal drip (gross)!

I hope you feel better soon!

Ah, good! Not good you are gagging! Good that I am not the only one. I really didn't think I had a band problem as such and the explanation I had come up with seemed logical to me! I might try a decongestant med to see if that helps.

If it goes into your ears or teeth make sure you go see your doc Kate.  When that happens most of the time over the counter meds dont work you will need a prescription from the doc .

Get well soon !!

Oh it's not that bad! Just irritating in that I don't sleep much. But that is no big deal - I often don't anyway!
