I am 2years out from my surgery and i managed to lose 60lbs with one fill of  (1 1/2cc). My surgeron was impressed with that at the time. I recently moved to Florida from AZ and I lost my insurance coverage about 8mos ago, so I haven't been to see a surgeon in awhile. To add to it I recently had a baby 5 mos ago (YEAH!!!).I only gained 27lbs with the prgnancy, so that was good. I have lost all but 12lbs of it but I still had 20lbs to go to get to my ideal weight before I got pregnant. My plateau hit long before the prgnancy and the next step was to focus on the excercising. My doctor said that my weight was now in the (normal) range and that my body was going to respond like a (normie) would from here on out. My life right now is STRESSFUL! And until we move out of the in-laws ( their eating habits are less than optimal) and into our own place it's going to be this way. I am eating emotionally and can't seem to stop. I don't get my insurance until next May and I feel like such a failure...

If anyone has advise that could help me begin to get back on track without the aid of a fill I would sure appriciate it. Come May, I will get with my surgeon and go it that route, but I need advise NOW, that will help me NOW. Thanks in advance, guys!

Congratulations on your baby's birth.    First off...I am NOT a band patient but a support group leader for OH.   Let me give you some suggestions.      Go to Dailyplate.com or a website like that and log everything that you put in your mouth.     When you have the desire to eat some foods that you know you don't need or eat due to a emotion.....DON'T do it !!!!   Instead put your baby in a stroller and go for a walk or go to the mall and walk if the weather doesn't permit you to do so.    Watch your portion size and what type of foods you are eating.   Just because you are living with your in laws doesn't mean you have to eat off program.    That is a choice that you are makiing ( whether consious or not ).    I know all about emotional eating and stress eating.   Just just need to know when it is about to happen and stop it  before it happens.    Good luck to you and you can PM me anytime on here.   Good luck to you.

Hugs and blessings ~~~ Vivian

GOD GRANT ME THE SERENITY TO ACCEPT THE THINGS I CAN NOT CHANGE;   COURAGE TO CHANGE THE THINGS THAT I CAN;  AND THE WISDOM TO KNOW THE DIFFERENCE !!!!    THIS IS MY DAILY PRAYER.

I too am an emotional eater.  However when I keep track of what I eat it most times scared me into slowing down or stopping the madness.  I agree with Vivian, keep track of your intake.
Additionally after losing my insurance and being unable to get a fill, even getting unfilled was very traumatic for me but I journaled anyway and started getting myself under control.  You too can do it.
Think about the work you put into losing those 60 pounds.  You know exercise and proper food choices are key factors.  People will always eat whatever they want and we know we can't.  Nothing has changed execept you are seeing it up close and personal.  Try not to focus on how they eat but how you must eat.  They did not choose this lifestyle.  You are not a failure you've just had a temporary lapse.  Do what you gotta do and you know what that is.  Your fill will come but get your mind together so that you will be ready for it.  Start now breaking those old habits you picked up.
I am saying all this because that is what I'm working on right now myself.  Take care and best of success.

I use Dexatrim Max whenever I need a little extra help in getting myself motivated again. you could look into natural appetite suppressants if you don't want to take the Dexitrim Max.

I don't know if your breastfeeding, but if you are please talk with your doctor first.

For me it helps me to forget about eating because I'm not hungry. You can buy it at Walmart. Start off with taking one pill and slowly work up to the daily max.

Thank you all for your replies. Yes ,at first i was eating the way they eat because we were all cooking together, I was pregnant and I was trying to please to many taste buds. Now I have refused to cook or eat the way that they do for the last 3 months or so. So that part of it has gotten better. My husband and  kids and I are moving out in the next 2 months, so having my own enviornment again will improve my mental state for sure. I starting getting back into soccer after 11years of not playing after a back operation, so thats positive as well. I guess I am just taken back at the fact that after all the mental work I did to try to change my relationship with food, it managed to creep back in. I'm mad at myself really and need to have control of my life again. Trying to explain this to my husband ( who is skinny as a rail) is another source of frustration, but he loves me and says he understands. I seem to have no real restriction and it scares me a little as well.

Maybe you could try introducing your in laws to a healthier lifestyle by cooking something healthier, they don't need to be told it's healthier, just tell them you want to try out a recipe you found online.

I hear ya, tried that! My mother in law is German and believes the major food groups are all made up of MEAT ,BUTTER and CHEESE!! LOL It's nuts! Very set in their ways and she is scheduled to get the LAp BAnd in January!!! OMG! I am SCARED for her. I have tried telling her to start with her relationship with food now rather than later. Deaf ears.. So it's a minor nightmare that i'm dealing with. When she is tired of not getting results, first she will hate me ( displaced anger, like I put her up to getting the Lap Band or something) , then her surgeon will remind her that she is the one who feels she needs an inch worth of butter on EVERYTHING!!  Comedy, really. ! But , really, thanks again for the suggestion.

MEAT,BUTTER,and CHEESE.....tell her she would LOVE the DS. That is DS health food and very easy to consume. She can have all she wants and her body wont absorb 80% of all the fat she eats.
