 Hi,
I've had probs with the band when I got my first fill.  Serious nerve pain.  Once I got unfilled, the nerve pain left. I also get pain under my left rib. Not sure if thats realted too. I also get anxiety attacks multiple times a day.  This started a few weeks after surgery.  I wa**** with C Diff Collitus and spent a week in the hospital.  Very painful.  My surgeon and PCP relate the adrenaline rushes that i have (multiple times a day) to my fear from the hospital.  It could be true...or ...HMMM.

My question is, if this is related to the vagus nerve and if I decide to take it out and get the sleeve, then wont these problems get worse?  I have no medical background so please explain.
If the band damages the vagus nerve and causes this pain and possibly the anxiety...wont cutting the stomach and the vagus nerve also cause damage?

I am so sorry you are going through this. You are not alone. You should be hearing from Nicci (N.M.) about any ol time because she has suffered from the same pain for years.  :(  I personally feel most of the blame for lapband failures belong to the doctors for placing them wrong, too close to the vagus nerve.  I'm fortunate not to have the same problem. PLease keep your band out since its proven itself to harm you...and get the Sleeve.  If my band goes south in the future, I would get the Sleeve.and I'm pretty sure that the sleeve operation does not involve any cutting of the Vagus nerve.   I try to refrain from recommending which WLS is best...only you can decide ....research...go to the revisions forum and FRIEND N.M. :)

Best wishes
