Nawww, my doctor isn't Yaya Doodles. I wish! That's a great name!
I like the surgeon who implanted my band (B. Williams), but was totally put off by the insensitive and rude staff. So I don't want to put his name down. I have a new surgeon (H. Houston), but I don't want his success rate to be negatively impacted by my lack of sucess with the band, so I don't put his name down either.
So I perused the surgeon's list and found Dr. Doodles--a match made in heaven! I would like to think Yaya has a very entertaining bedside manner. With a name like that, how could you not??
I had it terrible before WLS. What help me the most, not counting losing the weight, was getting a professional foot massage. Seriously, at that time I was going in for monthly massages on my upper back and shoulder due to a pinched nerve. One day she asked me if I had any other problem areas and I told her about my PF after just two "treatments" it was gone! I always wear a good shoe and wear birkenstocks around my house like most people wear slippers. It's been several years and it's still hasn't returned. I don't know if this is typical or not but it worked for me. Good luck Lori
ETA: by the way I walk or run seriously everyday. My feet take a pounding but they feel just fine.

I suffer from terrible pf - and it often seems to go away as quickly as it came on. I agree with all the other posters - but what really works for me is a combo of anti-inflammatory meds - b/c of the band - i used children's liquid advil, and Voltaren Gel - which is a prescription, topical, anti-inflammatory, and ice, a natural anti-inflammatory. The pain comes from the inflammation and the inflammation just gets worse and worse and worse - stretching may prevent reoccurences but in my experience stretching did nothing to stop the pain when the area was already inflamed. That Volatren Gel - was a godsend - I hope it's available in the UK.
