Tiniest bit of scratchy throat?
My band was emptied when I was pregnant with my twins, and I had my first fill post-baby a month ago. It didn't really give me any restriction, as they are not being agressive with filling it back to where it was. We're taking it slow. Yesterday I had another small fill.
I swear for the past couple weeks I might be feeling a tiniest bit of a scratchy throat...almost un-noticeable. Could it possibly be band related? I figured that my throat would only be effected if I was too tight or had been having stuck episodes. I don't really have any restriction so I haven't had any adverse episodes of any kind. I wonder if I'm just being paranoid and it's viral? I will call them next week if I am still concerned, but I thought I'd see if anyone here has had a similar experience.
Thanks!

Well, it wasn't until I was diagnosed (through an endoscopy) with 'silent' reflux that I realized that the little scratchy throat was in fact a symtom.
It can be a small amount of acid coming up and irritating your throat.
I now take an acid-reducer (I am on prescription strength Dexilant, but the pharmacist said that Prilosec is a very close OTC medication).
Good luck!

I agree with Kath - it could be related to reflux.
Years ago I was seeing an ear nose & throat doc about a persistent, slightly scratchy throat with a dry little cough, and he told me that he saw more patients with reflux than a gastroenterologist does!
