Re-post: Report complications/failures directly to the FDA!!!

I am constantly amazed on this Lap-Band forum the way so many band cheerleaders discourage and try to discredit those Lap-Banders that need help! And then want to whine that some of us are not being supportive!!!!!!!!! This was a re-post that was done to try to help those with band issues. This is a resource that some many not be aware of and I wanted to bring it up again in case some of the new ones had not seen it. These ppl with band complications have the RIGHT to report their band issues! HOW DARE YOU ALL TRY TO DISCOURAGE THAT!!!

Telling someone that they are gaurenteed to fail, that the hard decision that they have made to get the lap band, that the fight with the insurance, the preop diets, the hard damn work they have put in is all going to result in failure, as if there is no other outcome, is not helpful.  This is not just about this post.  I think that knowing where to report issues is valid and medically necessary information.  This is about every reply you have made to any Pro-Band post.  Some people have success, you didn't.  That sucks for you, but doesn't give you the right to poison my kool-ade.  The first part of your avatar is right, the last part, well there is nothing charming about a bully.

Bexie actually after posting the last few responses to you I realized it was very tacky and mean. I apologize! I got offended by what you said to me so I struck back (you probably wrote what you did b/c you were offended by what I said). Not sure if you have seen it yet but didn't delete it b/c I feel like often on these forums ppl post some very mean, inaccurate or things they don't want ppl to really know and then they delete it like they never said it. You can't undo what say.....but you can try to make it right, and I should not have said that to you.

I have gotten caught up in a petty blog battle- This will be my final post on this forum- I came here because it was the "lapband" forum- I understand people want to share their "expertise" on the failure of the band- but i have spoken with many successful bandsters (from my support group) that will not come on this forum because it has been taken over by several band bashers- Band Bashing has its own forum- this forum should be a safe place for lapbanders to come for support-

If the motive is to make sure bandsters are wll informed pre-op than simply direct them to the "failed band forum"- but to takeover this forum to the exclusion of support from other bandsters is not healthy.

I wish all of you the best- God willing I will be one of the people that make their band work- I have succeeded in other areas where the odds were stacked- If I am not ...Well to be truthful the harsh tone ive encounterd will keep me away from here-

That may be true, but I know tons of bandsters that were NOT successful, or that were successful INITIALLY then had complications that will not come to this forum b/c of the BANDSTER BASHERS. They have seen how other bandsters have been accused of being the problem.........and not the failed band! So I guess it all kind of evens out, don't ya think?

Yes it should. Unfortunately that has NOT always been the case. Why do you think bandsters with failed bands don't deserve support also?

And as far as leaving the forum. Go ahead. It's your loss. There is negative on any forum. You just have to take the best and leave the rest. Good luck on finding a forum with no conflicts!
