Nervous about first fill in a long time
Hi.
I am going on Tuesday for my first fill since May 2008. I had pretty great restriction with 2.25ccs in a 4cc band, and got pregnant in February 2010. I didn't get an unfill but enough time has elapsed since my 5/08 fill that it's time for a little top-up, now that I am finished nursing my daughter.
I'm a little nervous just because it has been so long. I feel like my port moved (it was always a bit tough to access). Anyway, just wanted to see if anyone else has gone in after a long time and how your experience was.

Since you did not get an unfill during your pregnancy, if it were me, I would request an Upper Gi BEFORE I get more saline added to the band to make sure the pouch is normal. Good luck.

I haven't really had restriction in a while. I had been debating about a fill during the winter of 2009-2010 because I didn't really have restriction, but then I got pregnant so decided to wait and use my lack of restriction instead of getting an unfill.

It's still a good idea to get have your band accessed to make sure you don't have any issues even f you are not experiencing much restriction. The longer I've waited between fills the better the next fill has been for me. I would request my next fill under fluoroscope this way your pouch can be assessed during your fill.
