Confused about the band

Please don't believe a word Nana says about WLS. She has zero experience with any procedure OTHER than the Band, and she's invested so much of her self-worth in touting the Band that she can't admit it has the worse stats of any form of WLS. She's certainly wrong about the risks with the Sleeve being greater than with the Band---for heaven's sake, the Band has a 25% re-operation rate!!!

carries MORE risk than the band

Explain please, why do you say the sleeve carries more risk than the band?  I'll disagree 100% with this analogy.  It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see the problems associated with the band, i.e. risk.

I'm confused.....your comments make ZERO sense.

Nana, you sure have several haters on here. I have read every single one of your posts and find nothing wrong with your comments. You have reiterated time and time again that the Lap band is a TOOL which it is, why my surgeon told me the same thing. She said this is only a tool to 'help' you along with your weight loss journey, the rest is up to you. Will I know if its going to work for me NOOOO, do I know if any of the weight loss surgeries will work for me NOOOOO. Did I know that my new hip was going to work for me NOOOOOO.

Again, nothing is 100%, but those of you telling other people what type of surgery to get is just beyond madness, and some of you have severely crossed the line with what you post. I am new here and honestly, I came here for support ONLY. I didn't ask any of YOU to tell me what type of surgery to get!!!

Shame on all of you for your hateful comments/posts - where is the support on this site????

You're one of the most clueless people I've come across in a long time.

But, you believe what you want to believe, wrong or right.  Do I care? NOOOOOO.

Damn, that idiotic chick deactivated before I could jump in!

Yeah, the band is a tool.  And in your case Nicci, in the hands of a crappy surgeon, it was a tool of death!

Well, it's better to deactivate than be proven an idiot eventually. And by "eventually" I mean right now.

Of course I cannot (nor would I even attempt to) speak for everyone here, BUT the idiotic chick seems to have trouble distinguishing the truth about other posters' feelings for Nana.  I don't know that anyone "hates" her,  but rather they hate her innacuracies about not only the band but other WLS types.   In any case, there seems to be no great loss in the latest flounce.

This is why I came back to help newbies, I used to post frequently warning about the band, and how to use it as a TOOL, about allowing to heal before the fill process started....I remember some of these SAME people who are now proclaimed band bashers,

I've never said the patient caused ALL lap band complications, I used to help them, but they did not listen.....now they are an crusade to discredit anyone that have kept their bands a long time...sadly Many have left the forums, this forum used to thrive and had more activity than any board...until the lap band matured and it has WEEDED OUT...many of those who abused it...there have been a few that suffered complications at the fault of their surgeon, but the band IS STILL THE SAFEST WEIGHT LOSS SURGERY AVAILABLE WITH COMPLICATIONS...most band complications are minor compared to complications that can occur with the bypass, sleeve or DS...

The VERY VERY SAD THING OF IT ALL....All I wanted to do was help and show support for those seeking a band, I have also supported many bypass and sleeve people too...this madness should be criminal I don't see how Obesity Help allows it to keep happening...many have left and gone on to lap band only sites...hopefully people will start coming back as I post more,.

The jealously and hatred for the band is unreal especially those who have lost their bands.

I am just 6 weeks in and so far I am thrilled with my decision.

I have a fabulous doctor that has walked me through every step of the way.

So far...no adverse reactions...today was my first fill...I hope this will continue...

27 pounds in 6 weeks, not much to complain about!
