Since when is it a 1/2 cup to a cup of food?  I don't recall anyone saying it should be that little.  More like 1-1 1/2 cups.

In surgeons lap band documentation that I've read since I've had my band for over 6 years 1 cup of solid food is pretty much the standard amount of food to get enough nutrition and at level to prevent complication.

The sweet spot is NOT precise, RESTRICTION IS NOT AN EXACT science in terms of the amount of food the band should restrict, so there will always a ebb flow since the band is filled with saline of how tight you will feel on a particular day, but the threshold and the IDEAL amount is about 1 cup of solid food per meal give or take.

Restriction IS NOT in your face with the feeling of vomiting or pain, it is a subtle feeling where you want to pull back from the table and feeling of satisfaction or fullness, and usually accompanied by a hiccup or sneeze. Also remember the band WILL NEVER STOP you from eating regardless of how tight you get, that's something we will have to do ourselves.

This is a VERY help guide on lap band diet and nutrition and how much to eat.

Good luck

Trust me, I know what restriction is and I feel it now. Its when I eat too fast or when I eat slowly and after about 1.5 cups of food, I feel full and that I am done.  Also, since I have the BOB not a plain band, I have very different anatomy than you and almost all other bandsters.  I still dump, I still have malabsorption, etc.  I am just curious more of if Im losing 5lbs a month, which in my mind is good, do I really need to go get another fill.

Now that's interesting, since you are a revision you may experience restriction differently than how we feel it, you may already be at your sweet spot though especially if you are losing weight. If it were me I would not get another fill until I stop losing weight, typically restriction will loosen up after a certain amount of weight loss, and if you do get another fill I would only ask for very small amounts to avoid getting over filled.

It hink as long as you are losing weight and not feeling hungry you are good.  When you slow down to 1-2 pounds per month and are thinking about food all the time, go in for a fill.

5 pounds a month is great!  I don't think I ever lost more then 5 pounds in a month.  I was a slow loser and was not working out like I should have been either.

Good Luck!
