Employer changing insurance company

I'm currently waiting to be approved by United Health Care for my LAP Band surgery.  I'd recently was informed by my employer that they are changing to BCBS ANthem.  How will this change effect my approval?   Will I have to start again from the beginning with the new insurance company?   It's beginning to feel like this will never happen for me.

Thngs to find out

1. does your surgeon take BCBS Anthem?
2. does your new policy cover Bariatric surgery (your company may or may not purchase the additional rider to cover it)
3.  is it possible to get the surgery scheduled and completed while you are still under UHC

Most importantly --- will your new coverage pay for FILLS and Follow Up?

If you are going to have a band, you should plan to have several appointments for adjustments in the first year or more -- and then 1 or 2 appointments a year after that.

(I had my first 3 months of follow up included in the price of my band -- then, had monthly appts for about 3 more months, then appts were 8 - 10 weeks apart until I got to my goal).

yes do factor in the cost of the fills. My insurance paid for the surgery then after my surgery was done they decided they would not pay for fills....  so its $200 every time I need to go. :(

....just keep swimming
