When I had my band slip, I had a lot of upper abdominal/lower chest pain. Couldn't keep anything down including water. Ended up in the ER, then referred to my surgeon after the ER visit.  I ended up in surgery a couple of days later for a repair. I had broken my original surgical sutures, for some reason they didn't scar over like they were supposed to.
I also have esophageal dilation that has been going on for quite some time. When it acts up, it feels like a brick in the middle of my chest or like someone put a cover in the middle of my esophagus and the food backs up. Many times I start getting the phlegm build up and eventually the food comes back up. When I was diagnosed back in July, I ended up having my band completely emptied.
Fortunately, on Tuesday, I am having my band removed with a revision to RNY. Over the past three years, I had a port replaced and the slipped repaired after my original surgery. Over the last year, I have had 4 ER visits, 1 CT scan, an upper GI swallow, and 2 EGDs.  Ready for this 3 year battle to be done.  Best of luck.

When I had my esophogial dialiation, I had no recognizable symptoms.  I wasn't getting stuck, could eat just about anything, no acid reflux, etc.  I just happened to mentioned to my PA one day that in the last few months I had two incidents of waking up in the middle of the night with severe pain between in my back between my shoulder blades.  It felt like gas, got better if I walked around and I felt like I needed to burp.  He told me that acid reflux can present itself to band patients as back pain so he scheduled an UGI.  That's how I found out I had the esophogial dialation, but it was minor.  Had some of my fluid removed from my band, that was about six months ago, and I haven't had any added back yet.  I'm not having any problems at all, except that I've gained some weight because I have less restriction, and quite honestly have been doing alot of stress eating for the last few months.  I see the surgeon in about 3 weeks and may actually start getting some fluid added back, but I'm going very slow, maybe just .1 cc at a time, because I don't want any more problems and considering I didn't realize I was having a problem when I was, I'm a little afraid of having more without realizing it.

Hope this helps.
