I might be losing my band in the next few weeks. If that is the case, I am looking into getting VSG. By-pass scares me, I like sugar too much.Tmal your losing your band is probably a blessing in disguise! You will do much better with VSG.
It is very sad though to have to revise after just 1 1/2 years. You know I always say on this forum that MOST bandsters don't do well with the band long term...........but even sadder than that is that thousands of bandsters out t here don't even do well with the band SHORT TERM!!! :-(
Good luck with your revision!
Yes, there are a lot of people who have revised from the lapband. I see Redbabe has posted the link to the Revisions forum. Please feel free to join the Failed Bands Group in my signature line, as well. You'll find many people who successfully revised from the band to another form of Weight loss surgery.

Wow! 3 repairs in 4 years. So sad. And some of the ppl on this forum can't understand why I don't think the band is a wise choice b/c of band complications! :-(
You might want to join the Facebook failed band group. Good luck on your revision!
I'm a band to rny revision. I loved my band. My body didn't accept it. So the revision was done in Jan. I'm down 80 pounds since then. I love the rny lifestyle, and I like a pp loved sugar. I can eat very small amounts of sugar, and not have issues, although I rarely choose to. I keep that line from biggest loser in my mind... nothing tastes as good as skinny feels. I think it was biggest loser. Anyway, for an example, on thanksgiving, for dinner I had turkey of course. I had 1 small bite of stuffing, potatoes, cauliflower, peas, and later pie. I had two bites of apple pie, and one of pumpkin. And I lost a pound
Never in my life could I say that before. I'd always gain SEVERAL through the holiday. Since the 11th (been in a stall up to then) I've lost 6 pounds. I gained a bunch learning I can graze. Now I'm learning I don't need to. Much like the band I can eat around it. But do I need to? NOPE! I'm satisfied with MUCH MUCH less food. Especially when living my life like we should (no matter what surgery you have) protein first. Often I can't eat more than the protein, that I need.
My surgery was done as one. I was home 3 days later. I felt great, just tired.
Good luck with your decision.
