BCBS Fed, insurance

first of all: relax!!! Insurances take their sweet time when it comes to approving medical procedures, i know i work in the medical office and they will take longer if they feel like it! now the costumer service rep wont be able to help u unless its just to tell u if u been approved or not because there are nurses/doctors reviewing your case and they will make the best desicion for them (in terms of if its medically necessary) I know you want it to be done you will get a letter as soon as they make their desicion...
Thanks for your reply, I would think they would want to wrap up the year before the new policy change take effect Jan 1, 2012, I know slow is the word, but FEPBLUE seems to have a pretty good reputation to get your answer within 2 weeks max. I just wondered about that word, ON HOLD, that's what the PC shows, as in, are they waiting for something ? Just wondering about the word, not the time frame they will take to review. I had a 3 mo weight plan, started in May... they all have been slow.
I sure do not work that way on my job,

i have BCBS Fed Employee....and they did approve my surgery (10/20). Sometimes it's a matter of not all the paperwork being reviewed, and they did ask for things again that i had given them. I started the process in February, and was approved in September...and had an october surgery date.

Hi, thanks for answering-- pray tell, who would that be? They only let me talk to customer service reps. I keep hearing about the nurses or care management, etc, but I do not get past the cust serv people, whom, some have NO idea what I am even talking about. One guy said you are approved but on hold! I am bit frustratred, as I have chased tests results and office managers to call back and just a very weird way of doing business to me.
I work for the feds, I should know better, but, they do call me Ms.Expedite at work- cause I am always pushing for signatures.
HMM maybe I should go to DC...
Actually after surgery, I am thinking about looking for work there, my kids are moving away from my area Feb 2012- so I am free to go.
but that's why I am trying to get this done, I really do not want to be alone.
