im scard for my life
Hugs! Please revise to an EFFECTIVE WLS!!! That is a very dangerous BS level!
I had pancreatitis previousl also. I do not drink either. Mine was caused by gall stones. Do you have those? Please have your gall bladder checked!
DO NOT GET THE BAND AGAIN! The band is why you are in the condition you are in! You wasted 2 wonderful opportunities to have WLS on the band. It has NOT helped you! It does NOT help most bandsters long term! Had you had a more effective WLS the first time........or the 2nd.........I have no doubt that you would be healthier and happier. Please don't waste more time, energy, money, and more importantly your HEALTH on the CRAP-BAND!!! :-(
As one of the other posters mentioned, the DS does have the highest resolution rate for tupe-2 diabetes. If I had diabetes that is more than likely the route I would take, although RNY is very close behind.
You might also want to consider joining the FB Failed Band Group.
I agree with the others absolutely DO NOT get another band obviously it is NOT the surgery to help you! Get a surgery that will actually help you and I agree that you need to get into some counceling to help you sort out your life. You are slowly dying and you must take steps to stay alive and healthy. You must make your health a number one priority. I wish you well and do get a better surgery there are several and they all work better than the crap band.
I have the lap band and it is working for me. My son has type 2 diabetes and his weight is just out of control. I am scared for his life and am begging him to get the gastric bypass. I think if I had it to do over again I would get the bypass. I was concerned with having to take all the nutrients but now I realize that is possible and no problem. It would be nothing for my son who lives on his diabetes meds. I watched him yesterday just struggling to do the slightest thing his breathing was labored and he is very grouchy and unpleasant to be around. He normally has such a sweet personality. He is trying so hard to eat healthy, but he is losing the battle. I hope you will get the surgery but I think you need more than the band. I hope and pray that my son will do likewise. I am continuing to pray he will. I know it will completely change his life in every way for the better. I think it would do the same for you. God bless you sweetheart, you are much to young to carry this burden.
I don't have anything to add that has not already been said. Just wanted to sent well wishes to you. I too had a band, but now have DS. Loving life.

So, I'm not "banded" so I really don't know what route you should take, but the most immediate thing you should do is cut out ALL sugar and as many carbs as possible. If you can't control your eating, at least commit to doing something to preserve your life in the immediate. Keep yourself out of the dialysis clinic, and from using a "white cane" by cutting out all sugars and most carbs until you can make a decision about what procedure you want. I'm sure you like wearing 2 shoes right? So you have to have some degree of discipline to preserve your life. Maybe go to an overeaters anonymous meeting until you make up your mind on the kind of surgery you want. You can find a group and get there within a week. My point is DO SOMETHING NOW, until you can get the medical procedure you need.
What the others are saying is absolutely true. Please seek some psychological help. I'm alarmed because I work in the medical field, and I've never heard of anyone walking and talking with a blood sugar in the 500's, that is a diabetic ER visit waiting to happen. Please take care of yourself. Nobody else will. I don't mean to sound harsh, but this is some serious mess here. Actually scared me.
