Gotta get self back on track

I have met a wonderful man that is very sweet to me. Problem is that with all the eating out and missing the gym more and more consistently to spend time with him I am putting on weight....I have even let the fat girl out of her cage and have been eating carbs....in the form of ... sigh...Sugar... :(  I went through a time that band was too tight and all I could get down was ice cream band is lose but still eating ice cream... I have to get self back under control.  And this year for thanksgiving I am making 4 pies... no worries there really, I'm not a big pie person....but I am hoping the boys and Steve eat them quickly...  I really have to get back on track with gym and tracking food.  I don't want the fat girl to be in control! I have worked too hard.

I can TOTALLY relate!!

I was in a very good groove, eating okay, but more importantly working out consistantly and hard.  I was seeing good results.  I met an awesome man, and have really seen my gym time diminish.  He is willing to go with me, but he it has to be late in the evening, when I am less motivated.

We just have to have to make time for US, and do this...we can do this, Swoosh!

Same exact thing in my case, he would go with me...but he gets out later and I need to go right after work so that I'm still "at work".   Grats on meeting a good guy :)

Damn those good loving men!!!

Good luck to both of you!!!  Sometimes being happy comes in different packages.  We've ALL been in those relationships where eating becomes a hobby with our loved ones, LOL

Just something that came to my mind is remember where you came from, remember how good being in control feels, and if you are feeling badly about yourself now because of out of control eating, it's only going to get worse.

Somehow I think both of you will do wonderfully and get through this!

Thanks, Donna!  I am trying to remember how my self-esteem will go down if I start to regain or feel fatter.....and for ME, a low self-esteem can wreck a relationship!  YIKES!   I certianly don't want that!!

I know I've got to get back on track as well in the same ways that you do.  Ever since my dad who was my best friend passed away I've just been so caught up in the grief and depression and trying to cope without him.  I need my motivation back.

I am so sorry for your loss.  That would be very hard to deal with I have no doubt. :(  Hang in there :)

I'm sorry to hear about your dad, Bridget.  Grief over the death of my 11 mo. grandson 2 years ago triggered my rapid weight gain and I'm still trying to find my way back.  Motivation is definitely the key but can be hard to hold onto.  Together maybe we can find our way.  Keeping you in my prayers.

I think we all hit challenges in our life where are motivation takes a back seat. For me it has been the weather change. I am a walker and it is hard to make myself get out in the cold & rain. I found my wonderful man 34 years ago. He hates to exercise but he will go with me anytime I ask him too. Which I did tell him we would need to do alot of walking this holiday weekend. Lets all get our selves back to where we want to be! We can do it!!!

Thanks for the encouragement Diane.  And congratulations on 34 years!  It's a rare thing these days.
