I am Bette B and *I* own this board!!!!

I have been on this forum longer than any of your b*tches, so only *I* get to dictate what goes on here. What gets posted, and what doesn't. I'll be damned if a bunch of NEWBIES and FAILURES are gonna tell ME what's gonna be posted on here.

If *I* don't like that you have to say, YOU DON'T GET TO SAY IT!

If *I* don't like your opinion, YOU DON'T GET TO EXPRESS IT!

If *I* don't like your band experience, YOU DON'T GET TO TELL ABOUT IT!

Sounds pretty damned stupid, doesn't it?

More than a little arrogant, perhaps? Where does THIS ***** get off telling us what we can and can't post here?

It's a free country, right? First amendment, right?

EXACTLY!

Get over yourselves. OH is an open community and this is an open forum. Everyone gets to tell their story: whether it be success or, yes, failure. Whether it's a tale of smooth sailing or rough waters.

Everyone has a story to tell, even if it is one that did not end in success. Put your "listening ears" on. Keep your eyes and your mind open: you may learn something. And yes, you can learn from lack of success and failure.

I can tell you this: if I had put my heart and soul into this band only to have it fail through no fault of my own, I would be rip**** too. If I had put my all into this thing only to have it fill my life with pain and my insides with scar tissue, I would be yelling warnings from the highest mountaintop.

If you don't like someone's story, just don't read it. If you don't like a person's opinions or don't want to hear about their experience, don't read it, or just block them.

No one gets to determine whose journey is worth sharing and whose isn't. This forum, and OH in general, not all about YOU and it's not here to fill your day with sunshine and rainbows. Sometimes, it rains. A lot.

Here endeth the lesson. Go forth, and keep an open mind.

In my ever so humble opinion the only things which should never be posted are personal abuse of individuals or things which may unnecessarily offend ( racism etc.).  I don't personally approve of some of the more extreme views about the band, but I have a finger and a block button!

And please note that those extreme views are not just the antis but also  the blindly pros!!

Kate,

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

Actually I have always kind of considered you the Mayor of the Lap-Band forum. :-)

Oh, not Mayor. That sounds much too respectable for Bette. Godfather? Capo? Evil Genius? The Joker?
