Here is what I would do in your case, it appears that you are at your "sweet spot", you probably need to up your exercise like many of us do, even RNY's must work out, to get to a satisfied weight, we banders must do more since we don't have the help of malabsorption, that's the trade-off for not having to deal with malabsorptive issues long term. Those who use the band to do all the work, usually end up getting it removed from being too tight too long. Remember the band is not suppose to stop us from eating, it is designed to "help us stop", you will be treading into that slippery slope of being too tight if you move into the RED ZONE, because that is where you could possible end up with adding more saline.

Remember the more saline you add to the band, it can turn into a little wicked contraption of a device.

If you want to take that leap for more saline, you may want to ask your fill giver for .1cc or the smallest increment, sometimes .1cc will make a huge difference, and see how you feel.

But again, we are lucky the band IS adjustable so we can play around to see if adding just a tiny drop of saline will boost weight loss. Also counseling or attending a support group could also help you, remember the band is not suppose to make us feel ill or spank us to keep us on track like other weight loss surgeries too control our eating. But again the more saline you add to your band, you risk damaging your band, but again, if you get more saline and realize that you are too tight, you can always go back immediately and remove some before you damage your band.

good luck

Omg! "Nana" is back again! Just keeps returning kind of like a bad case of the...................Oh never mind, lol.

Anyway.........you may want to disregard most/all of what she says. She comes on here and tells how she loves her band and is so "successful" with it, and if you are not successful with the band that YOU have done something wrong! But at the same time.........she was on here last year stating she had had like 58 fills! And she even said she lost her weight b/c she became "addicted to exercise"!

Of course she later deleted those posts, but many that were around last year can verify this along with some of her other "interesting" posts! Lol. Laptop post comes to mind!

Okay guys!! So I went in today for a SMALL fill, 0.25 cc in my band. So far, I don't feel any different. Ate a whole chicken quesadilla for dinner (Wheat w/ chicken) I've done this before since some foods "slide" down alot better than others!! This allows me to eat more of that food. I never felt any urge to stop tonight. I don't know if its just emotional eating or if there is something wrong with my band. Everything looked good today at the doc.. maybe I need more of a fill?? Before when I went to much on the fills, I would take 2-3 bites and feel stuck. (too tight).  I just can't seem to reach that "perfect" fill. Apparently, I'm eating too much or too little. I'm gonna try to eat solid protein first tomorrow and see what happens! Thanks for everyones replies. Keep them coming!

I've been stalled for a year- up and down the same 5 pounds.  Last fill was in January of this year- I noticed I was eating more, I noticed also that I was going back to old habits- taking a swig of a drink after starting a meal (results in throwing up) swallowing big bites before chewing (throwing up) only took a few times of doing this to stop and look at the habit vs the band- my band wasn't causing me to get sick, I was.  Not paying attention to my signs that got me down 80 pounds in the first year.

SO... I called my dr and went in for a fill, something to help me realize the band is there a little sooner and to remind me to go back to my GOOD habits.  .25 cc last night and I can tell the difference today.  Your band is a tool, but like any tool you have to use it properly and follow it's rules, sometimes we all need a bit of a reality check.

I left a lot of my good habits aside lately.
-not drinking enough (really any) water
-looking for snacks in between meals
-drinking calories
-working more bread back in

time to get back to basics if I want to take the rest of this off- and I DO!
