Planet Fitness
Just wondering if anyone belongs to a Planet Fitness gym. They're just opening up in my area. I belong to another gym and my membership expires the end of the month. I'm not really happy with the one I belong to, so I'm wondering about this one. It sounds like a no frills gym, no classes like zumba or anything, just machines and group training sessions and only costs $10 a month. So much cheaper!
Just looking for some opinions from those who belong. Thanks!

I was a member in 2010 before we moved from our last duty station. (my husband is in the Navy) We moved to our new station and there is no PF anywhere near here. :( I really liked it though. There are no classes, but you can get a personal trainer if you would like one. I loved that it was only $10/month. And I joined when it was only $1 membership fee. I loved that every machine had it's own tv so you could watch what YOU wanted and not what was on one of the few tv's. Just bring some headphone's and plug them in and watch what you want! I wish we still lived near one cause I'd still be a member.
Karen,
Thanks for responding. It's $1 to join here right now. I think I'm going to go for it. I can't believe how cheap it is and I don't use the classes at my current gym because they're just too hard to get into, so I've been going to zumba at another location. At $10/month, I feel better about spending money for classes somewhere else.

I agree with Karebear - I Love PF! It just opened here last week and I am totally motivated to get back into the gym. It is a no frills gym but there are no muscle heads and it is a no judgment zone. There are always plenty of machines available and there are trainers available to help you at all times.

You can't measure your achievements with someone else's yardstick!

I have been a member for about a year now. I love Planet Fitness. It would be nice to belong to a gym that has zumba and other aerobic classes, but really, for the price, I can't complain!! I got a deal where I can go to any PF and bring a guest to ANY PF with me. So, I go to any of the 6 locations around me and take my BF. It's very nice!
Thanks everone for your responses. I went ahead and joined.
Melly, I actually belong to a gym now that has classes but I never go because it's too hard to get into them. You have to be there a half hour early to sign up for them, stand in line to sign up and hope you get in. They're really crowded - the room is not big enough. I just got tired of the whole process and started going to Zumba at anothr club that you can go in as a walk in for $5. I was going to join that gym, but PF is so much closer to my house and it will be easier for me to go consistently.
Again, thanks everyone!
