Quite a few people, me included, chose not to have them! With our doc's  blessing. What matters is getting in protein in the right consistency.

Make or buy a basic soup, any flavour.. If you buy it choose carefully to make  sure it is not high  salt or with cream! Add to it a high protein food such as a can of chick peas, soya beans,, red kidney beans, lentils. Put into a blender - you def need a blender to do this! You will probably need to add extra water or stock.

Usually I made my own soup base. Just loads of veggies boiled together with seasoning.

Hey presto! Home made high protein soup! The protein content is not quite as high as in a nasty chemical brew! So you need to keep an eye on it and have enough each day. But Inever had any problem in getting in enough protein this way.

I did actually try a protein shake once. Definitely not for me!!

I love my protein shakes, I usually have one a day, most often for breakfast. I use vanilla flavored whey protein powder, add water, and add an apple for for an apple protein drink, or a banana for that flavor . I also love the Peanut butter flavored ones. Just add a tbsp. of PB and adjust the water content for either a yummy drink or a decadent pudding. Yummy . I also have added cold leftover brewed coffee, with my water mixture and add ice-cubes for a refreshing drink on a hot day. Experiment with different flavoring such as cinnamon, etc. Oh and crushed pineapple is great too. The only limit is your imagination.

I add PB and 1/2 a bannana to my chocolate protein shake. Yummy!!! Also, the  brand of whey protein makes a difference in the taste.
