Breast reduction
I had a breast reduction before my band surgery. Yes, it was painful. The surgery took longer than expected because like many other very fair-skinned people, I'm a "bleeder", so being anesthetized for so long also took a toll on me (I felt like I'd been run over with a truck). My recovery time was about 2 weeks, mainly because the lateral incisioins (which go from the center of my chest to under my arms) made reaching and lifting movements difficult. I have absolutely no regrets. It is such a relief to look and feel "normal" - no more back pain and my clothes fit better.
I have to mention, though, that it took me months to get used to my smaller breasts, and I've heard other breast reduction patients say the same thing. Being the girl with big boobs got me a lot of attention when I was younger, and it was disconcerting to say goodbye to that image of myself.
But again...no regrets!

Melanie --
I had brachioplasty and a breast lift a year ago (the Thursday before Thanksgiving)
I went from a 44C to a 36 full B ----
I took 10 days off -- and then went back to my desk job easily.
I had very little real pain -- more discomfort, really.
I bought some 'cuddleunders' at Ross -- and I wore them between my skin/incisions and my front close bra --- they were so soft and cozy.
Best of luc****rtainly am thrilled with the results I got (just had a consult for a tummy tuck today).
