More NSV's even after 4 years

Today I experienced 2 NSV's. I love that kind of thing because even after 4 years, I need to be reminded how far I've come.

When I was shopping at Wal-Mart, trying to steer my shopping cart through the health & beauty aids, I encountered 3 other shoppers clustered near the Depends. A middle-aged man was trying to buy Depends for his elderly mother and seeking advice from a middle-aged couple about which size to buy for her. The woman said, "How big is she?" The man pointed at me and said, "Small to medium, like her." That was gratifying for me to hear, even in the context of buying adult diapers!

The other NSV is that this morning I did a podcast on holiday survival strategies on Blog Talk Radio and managed to get through it without embarrassing myself. In the past I seriously doubt I would have had the guts to do something like that. (But I don't think I have a future in broadcasting because last week when making a bra fit event announcement at JCP, I said, "Bra spit fecialist" instead of "bra fit specialist." Well done!

Something a bit like your shopping experience happened to me yesterday. An elderly women in front of me at the checkout was chatting to me about a packet of speciality Christmas cakes she had. I said that I loved them but would try not to buy any yet as I would just  eat them all.

" oh, " she said" why not! As slim as you are it can't matter".

Things like that still make me want to shout my joy out loud!

Both of you Rock!  how cool for you!

My recent (first!) nsv involved shoes....as a chunk, i have had wide feet for more than 20 years, and have not worn heels in that long.

all of a sudden, instead of a 10 EE, I seem to be fitting into regular size 10 shoes.  9 days after my surgery, I had lost 14 lbs, and had also lost 14 lbs prior to surgery.  The hubby and I were in Kohls, and i tried on a pair of heels.  Not just heels, but stilletos!  adorable grey wool and black patent peep toes.  Ok, i can't walk in them!but i bought them and darn it, i'm practicing!

Great NSVs! So cool!

And funny about your JCP announcement! That sounds like something I would do!

Great NSV's, Jean. I just finished listening to the podcast and it was great. They didn't give you much room to get into it all in the article but this is great. Congrats!

Jean, just listened to you! Amazing to actually hear you after all these years of written communication!  Now, of course, if you and Lisa get yourselves sorted, actually seeing you is the next step!!

Good talk, by the way!
