Got my BAND!!!!!!!!!!
Getting rid of the gas is a bit of a ***** because it's in your abdominal cavity, not your stomach. It takes a while to dissipate. Moving around is the best way to get it going, and the movement is good for you in general.
As for clear liquids, your doc should have given you a list of approved liquids. If not, look over to the right of the page ----------------> to where it says "Post-surgery diet." There are suggestions there.

Congrats! Got mine on 11/2/11 and still fighting the gas also. I was on a full liquid right out so I dont have too many suggestions on clear liquids. When your ready for full liquids I posted about what I was doing on my blog, might give you ideas as to work off your doctors list but not get bored.
