taco meat?
Betsy,
Ground beef rarely works for me in any form. I do turkey chili, however, my chili appears to come out different every single time, so sometimes it's more dry than is comfortable for me.
As far as taco meat, it breaks down to those small dry balls, and to me that just does not go down! If your taco meat is nice and moist and sticks together somewhat, probably would work. Sometimes a lot of this is just plain old trial and error.

Betsey,
my doc didn't want us to do hamburger till six weeks out it wasn't considered soft food. Soft food to him was applesauce, re fried beans, scrambled eggs, cottage cheese, of course your jello, pudding, yogurt, . Egg salad if it was really fine and moist .
I was not allowed no meats till I was five weeks out .
Good luck !!!

Hi, Steeler Fan! I have not seen you on much lately and have been wondering how you are doing? I finally got a fill that made things make sense to me , such as eating pea size bites and getting full on 3 ozs. of protein. My weight started moving down and I am feeling optimistic. Have you ever gotten a fill yet?

I was onto 'normal food as tolerated' at week 3 post-op.
My doc recommended chili --- plenty of liquid to go with the solids - eaten slowly and carefully
I ate taco meat (often bought 1 taco from Taco Bell and took about 1/2 of the shell and used it to 'scoop up' tiny bites of the taco meat.
My bites were the size of a green pea -- tiny!!!
Go slowly and carefully --- and err on the side of caution -- if you have any discomfort, go back to liquids/mushy, mushy food
