Hi All,
Haven't posted in awhile.  Just busy with life.  But I wanted to check in and let you know that I'm thinking about y'all.

There was post recently about how it take our minds longer to catch up with our bodies about how big (or small) we are.  Boy, that's true!

Had a gig this past weekend and someone took a pic of us.  I really was struck at the difference in my body.  So, if you still think of yourself as big, start snapping those pictures.  I was never a fan of having my pic taken, but now I can't stop looking at this pic!!  I may print it out and put it on my desk to keep me motivated.

Below is my before pic, along with the most recent one...

Here I am around 330lbs...

And here I am this past weekend - around 242lbs... YAY!!!

Wow, you look amazing.  I wish I had better results with the lap band that what I am having.  I'm really struggling to loose and it just doesn't seem to be happening.  What are you eating and how much excersise are you doing????

I know you didn't ask me, but I couldn't help responding to your post asking for help. The #1 question is: have you talked to your surgeon and/or nutritionist about your disappointing results?

2nd question: do you feel you have any/enough restriction?

Dear Jean,

Thank you for your concern,  I saw the doctor about 2 1/2 weeks ago and I had not lost any weight so they gave me a 1cc fill.  I don't feel any different and I don't feel really any restriction,.  I'm getting really discouraged.  I drink a protein shake for breakfast and then I try to eat protein for lunch and dinner with a few vegetables.  I walk and go to curves 4 or 5 days a week.  I weigh 172 and need to loose at least 40 more pounds.  I am scheduled to go back to my doctor Nov 30, do you think I need a fill before then???  I just don't know what to do, I've lost about 37 lbs, but I haven't lost any the last couple of months.  Thanks again for asking about me, your advice is much appreciated!!

It sounds like you're doing all the right things. Have you tried logging your food intake? How is your physical hunger level? Are you eating enough? (eating too little can slow your metabolism)
Have you had any blood tests recently to check for things like thyroid dysfunction?

You may need another fill. Your last one should have kicked in by now, so if your surgeon can see you earlier than Nov. 30, I'd try to get that done soon. And when you're there, tell them how frustrated you are and ask, "What can we do to get this show on the road?"

I haven't been logging my food intake, and I may not be eating enough especially for breakfast and lunch,.  I did have blood work done a couple of months ago and everything was normal.

I think I'm going to call the doctor's office today and see if they can see me sooner the the 30th,

Thanks for your help!!

Hi Carol,
In answer to your question, I have cut out everything white - potatoes, rice, bread, pasta.  If I eat any of that, I gain weight.  Also, I work out 6x a week, for at least an hour at a time.  I have a trainer, but it's not cheap by any means.

I had decided that I was going to do everything I could FOR ME to lose this weight and keep it off.  It's not easy, and I'm not done.  Don't give up!!!

Wow! What a difference! You don't even look like you're 240 now, I'd have guessed a lot closer to 200. Keep up the great job and definitely print out that picture and stare at it and remind yourself THIS is you now!
