I had surg aug 29, 2011.  I can eat anything and the same amount as before surg.  I have only had one 2cc fill and no restriction at all.  I know the band is only a tool and I have to learn how to use it.  I am gaining part of the 47 lbs back that I lost.

Hang in there. Maybe you'll be lucky and get restriction after just a few fills.

Good luck!

Hi Maria...

I had good satiety from the get-go with my band.  I rarely feel hungry less than 4 hours after eating and am full on about a cup of food (1/2 dense protein, 1/2 veggies and salad).  In fact, I often forget to eat and don't realize I am hungry until my bg bottoms out. There are certain foods I cannot tolerate (brussels sprouts, raw spinach, fibrous foods, dry chicken breast or ground beef that is overcooked).  I was having some problems for the last 6 months that I suspected were band related, but turned out to be gall-bladder symptoms (had surgery 3 weeks ago).  Since then my band has been less fickle.

I have had two fills...one 3 months post-op of 3 cc and another last March of .5cc.  I want to lose more weight, but honestly haven't been focused on my food program or exercise for the last 6 or so months because of the gallbladder disease.  That said, I think my band has delivered as I expected and per the manufacturer's claims.  I am going to get focused after the holidays and see how close I can get to my goals...next goal is onederland, then 170.  I eventually would like to get to 150, but figure it might take a while...the last time I weighed 150 was in 1973.

Steph
