Second Surgery on Tuesday...

Hello. I am getting a new band Tuesday. My old band has a leak so it is back to the drawing board. How long are you out of commission for? I think I was down for about a week. Anyone else had a second band put in?

Just wondering why you would want to be re-banded rather than revise???

They did not offer me a revision. Just said I needed a new band.

You may not have been offered a revision but it doesn't mean you can't bring it up.  Its your body.  You do what's right for you and if this surgeon won't do a revision (if that's what you want), then see another surgeon.

I was banded 6 years ago but now have no port so I'm virtually out of the wls business.  I'll not do a band again but with all the problems I've had, I'm not even thinking of wls at the moment.

Thank you for all your well wishes. I ended up with a new port and new port line but kept my original band around my stomach. The doctor said the band broke around the top. He said he has never seen this before. I am just happy I am fixed and on my way to weight loss again.
