Hi everyone!  I've been lurking for a while and have decided to jump on board :)

My name is Kim and I'm from Michigan.  I have been looking in to WLS for some time now but I am considered borderline for qualifying.  I have a BMI if 35 but what I consider co-morbid conditions my insurance company does not.  I have PCOS with insulin resistance, high cholesterol and joint pain but none require any meds.

Is anyone familiar with BCBS of MI Community Blue and what they consider to be co-morbid conditions?  The only ones they have told me are high cholesterol with meds, degenerative joints with meds, high blood pressure with meds, and type II diabetes with insulin.

Any advice and/or info would be great!  Thanks!

Try this... tell your PCM you think you have sleep apnea and have him/her order a sleep study. This is usually a standard comorbidity that will help you get your WLS. Good luck!
