I only have 40 to lose now, if this goes on Ill be right back where I started. I was morbidly obese.

I will research the sleeve and tell my dr that thats the way I want to go if he can place a new band.

Now that casual comment by your doc concerns me. The DS is big time stuff! Not saying  it is not an excellent surgery It certainly works and those that have it seem to love it. But it is  not o be enteredinto lightly!  You don't need msintenance like fills but you do have to have very serious levels of supplementation. And failure to do that can lead to extremely serious consequences.

And recovery time is longer so you need to be prepared.

So not saying don't do it. But if t is a possibility, you need to do a lot if research it is definitely not something you just wake up to find done!

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

Finally!

I can't thank you enough for your answer.

I appreciate everyones responses but I was just waiting for one just like yours.

I spoke to my dr again and he said

" happy people don't usually post" and the truth is, once I had lost my weight, I stopped visiting this sight.

I moved on.

So he thinks that the people that have had positive experiences are not posting.

He felt bad that there were so many unhappy bandsters. But he feels that I will be successful. Really it's what I want to hear so I'm believing.

One thing to think about..........I have seen a few posts from ppl on here or the Realize forum that loved their bands and lost weight with them then had complications. Rather than revise to a different WLS they got another band b/c they had lost well with their first one. Well with their 2nd one they didn't like they did with the first one. They had just assumed that they would have the same results with rebanding as they had with their initial bands, but that wasn't the case.

Think carefully about your options!
