Hey everyone!! I tried getting a hold of my facility's nutritionalist today, but had to leave a message, so I am freaking out a little. I got my lap band on 10/20. I lost 15 during the preop diet, and a few more pounds on liquids right after, but on Thursday i started the 2nd week diet that is basically 3 protein shakes ans 2 snacks....well I havent lost A SINGLE OUNCE SINCE THEN!!!! I realize its probably nothing, but i am nervous i am doing something wrong!!!

I see you have had your band for quite a while.  Any problems.  Most of the people I see on the site have had their bands fairly recently.  I'm looking into getting the band and see a lot of negatives about it.

Don't freak out, it's just your body fighting the weight loss.  It thinks you are trying to starve it.  It will try to hang on, but just keep on doing what you know is right and the pounds will come off.  You lose quickly at first then your body tries to dig in it's heels and say HALT!  Relax, this is deinately a marathon not a sprint, and patience is the hardest part. At least it was for me.

Opps! I tried moving my post and accidently deleted it all the way! But thank you for the advice. I am scared of screwing things up, and that really helps!

I think we ALL go through it. Just relax, breathe and try to ride out the panic.

yes you are overeacting  but it is ok this is still new.  I lost very slowly and freaked out at first too  I even gained some  but as I was told by many  during this time your body is still healing.  You will notice a difference once you start eating solids.  My NP told me stay away from the scales because I got  obsessed and cried for hours when it showed that I gained.   Wishing you the very best.  You are losing great keep it up

The other posts are right about overreacting.  I did the same thing.  During the first 6 wks post-op, I gained 6lbs, and I freaked out.  Once you start eating regular food and start working out, the pounds will begin to fall off.

Just keep on following the rules and it will happen.  Good luck!

Yes, you are! But many do!

Initial loss is of the water soluble glycogen. As this is our emergency easy access store of energy, once our bodies realise we are going to carry on eating less, we need to repleni**** We store about 2 lbs of glycogen but it is water soluble and requires aboit 4 times its own weight in water.  So you are rebuilding that store as you start to use other stores of fat.
