Any exercise is the key. I started with just Cardio...Once I did good with Cardio and felt like I was getting in better shape I started adding in some weigh lifting every other day.

My advise is to exercise a often as possible. I do it every day for 30 to 35 minutes. Just set small goals, don't burn yourself out...because it takes 14 days to create a habit. You need to pace yourself slowly. Like set a small goal of exercising 3-4 times a week and then build up. :)

Goodluck... Don't discouraged, you're doing great. This is a long process!

Hi girly

I've been doing the Jillian Michaels DVD/treadmill.  I'm working on the one 30 day shred.  Definately get a hell of a workout and its about 20 intense minutes.  Look them up on Amazon, they're about $10 bucks each.

Chin up mama!

I don't think any particular exercise will tighten your skin - when it's loose, it's usually loose for good - but any exercise will benefit your heart, your health (mental & physical) and tone the muscles underneath your skin. Variety is the key for me because I get bored easily.  Recently my high-calorie-burn workouts have been step aerobics and Zumba. I like Pilates for the toning, yoga for  stretching and balance, and weights/resistance for strength (and bone health).

I'm a big gal, too.  I am proud of you for taking on exercise.  I just started with a personal trainer that lives in my community so we use the community gym.  She's the best thing that has happened to me.  I've been very sick and I never dreamed I could do half of the things she's had me do.  If you have a little extra money I suggest in investing in one for a maybe 6 sessions.  He/She will really help you learn technique and what will be best for your body.  Keep going though.  Who cares what people think or how you look.  You're making your life better!

Oh, and if you want to exercise in your home with low impact I highly recommend Leslie Sansone's WALK AWAY THE POUNDS.  It's challenging and I lost weight with her.  She has several videos but the one-two-three mile combo is great.

Don't cry anymore.  Smile knowing you just took the first step.  Getting the trainer was very hard mentally and it's only been 3 sessions and I'm already WAY stronger.  It's amazing.
I've been on prednisone and chemo for over 7.5 years.  Gained over 160 pounds due to pred. Highest wt. 410. Surgery wt. 365. Current wt. 299
