Severe Neck Pain
Hi guys,
I had my lapband surgery on the 20th. The surgery was not until 7 at night so I did spend the night. Everything has been okay so far knock on wood. I have had the expected pains but I am having some severe neck pain. It goes away while laying down but comes back soon as I am up. I have tried a heating pad but its really not helping. What is causing it? And to top that off I have not had a bowel movement yet. Is that normal? I'm only taking in Boost anf liquids. Help me please!!!

You should have had a bowel movement by now. Call your surgeon's office pronto!

I had that shoulder pain every single day, nonstop for the 2 years I had my band. I STILL have it occasionally and I had the band removed 6 years ago. The band damaged my diaphragm... lucky me!
It really is excruciating pain, isn't it?! It's awful. I feel for anyone who has it.
Everyone should know that if the pain DOESN'T go away in a reasonable amount of time, the band could be damaging the diaphragm. The longer it's left unchecked, the worse it gets in a lot of people. The first week or two is normal pain from the CO2 gas used during surgery, but after that... definitely something to speak to your doctor about.
