100 lbs LOST!

I still have about 20lbs to lose and this last few months have been VERY SLOW... but I am happy :)
However, I have also been having problems with my band.  I spent a few hours last night in the ER after being in severe pain for about 5 hours.  Not sure what I ate that sent me over the edge, but they gave me pain meds and some Reglan to help move things along.  They would NOT touch the port and remove any saline, and I live about 4 hours from my surgeon.  So I will be going in to see him this week.  I really have had a hard time this last few months.  I have had a small unfill, and I am getting nervous that I may have to have a complete unfill.  YIKES!  Any suggestions?

First let me congradulate you on ur loss.  Examine your food choices.  I found that acid and gas producing foods may have caused me a few problems.  Second, I worked myself up to a frenzy about my complete unfill without cause.  Cried and everything.  I'm holding my own but look forward to getting filled soon.  My unfill really was necessary.  Wish you the best of success no matter what has to happen.  Take care, there is a stabilization after a temporary unfill.  Ony suggestion that I can give is try to eat like you are filled.

Congrats on the weight loss. I also found that weight loss went much slower as I got closer to my weight goal.

I'm sorry to hear about your problems. No one wants a complete unfill, especially when you're so close to your goal, but it's really not the end of the world. If nothing else, it will remind you how much your band has been doing for you that you may have been taking for granted (I sure did). You might regain some weight, but after your upper GI system has had a good rest, you should be able to get re-filled and back on track.

Good luck and let us know what your surgeon says about all this.

Woo Hoo! Welcome to the Century Club! That is fantastic!

Sorry to hear about the problems you've been having with your band. I know an unfill is scary, but it really is better than the possible consequences of the complications that could be associated with the pain you've been experiencing.

Hang in there, I think the other posters have given some great information.

Keep us updated,
Lindsey
