What is the Recovery Time & How Long Were You....?

I think I am going to have my band replaced, pretty sure of it.  I had surgery 7 years ago.  REMIND ME: What is everyone's experience with recovery time?  I would like to get back to work as soon as possible, I have a "desk" job. My BIGGEST CONCERN is he gas....ugh, I remember that being the worst but I can't remember how long that lasted. That is probably my biggest fear in regards to returning to work too soon.  Any suggestions will help, I love this support group, I normally don't reach out for help, but I need it today.  Thanks again!

I have heard of people returning to work as early as 3-4 days, but I could not have. I felt great, except for the gas, but I was pretty puffy for about 10 days. By day 7 the gas was much better and by day 10 I could wear my own large clothes but before that I had such a big belly I had to borrow some pants from my neighbor since none of mine would fit. Not everyone has the trouble with gas.

I think you could reasonably figure to return after 5 days, but hey, take a week if you can get it.

I have to say that if my band ever plays up, I hope I can get it replaced!

I took a week off but was very active during the week. I am glad I ddn't go back sooner though because I kept on needing naps!

Oh and that gas! But mine was only for a couple of days.

I had more gas a couple years out than right after surgery.  May be that I listened more and took gas-x strips and tums.  Wish you success.

may i ask, why are you having the band replaced?
Did it get worn out? Slip?

The gas pains are what I remember most. Goes away within a couple of days...
