Gallbladder is gone!

I had my gallbladder surgery on tuesday and it went well.  Had one very large stone about the size of a golf ball that the doc says I have most likely had most of my adult life.  The pain is gone and I am feeling pretty well.
Doctor says I can get a fill if I want once I am fully healed from this surgery...

That is one big rock, mine was more like gravel..Makes you grateful it's not a kidneystone, don't it?

I had mine out in July, I guess appendix is the next thing to put more holes in my belly. I look like a page in a connect a dot book :)

I have had kidney stones, way worse than this thing was...one good thing was that there was no way it could get into the ducts and cause more problems, because it was so big.  Now I am dealing with the skin rashes I inevitably get post-op for some reason.  It doesn't respond to antibiotic ointment, anti-fungal or antihistamines.  Just itches like the devil!

Calamine lotion ??  If in doubt back to basics :)
A folk medicine cure is juniper berry oil. maybe that help you, can't hurt trying, right ?

Gold Bond seems to be helping...mupirocin and antifungal don't seem to work...wish me luck.  If things don't improve will be looking for some juniper berry oil (can I just use my Tangueray Rampur?

I had a skin rash after my lapband surgery.  Doctor prescribed a course of prednisone, which helped.

I had no idea you were suffering from gallstones Steph. So glad you got that sucker out and you are feeling better.

Aw shucks, thanks !  I had no idea either until early this month.  I had a stomach virus mid September and after recovering from that, started having pain in my upper right quadrant that would come on suddenly and last for hours.  I called my bariatric surgeon and they ordered an abdominal ultrasound and esophagram.  Stomach and band were fine.  The ultrasound was positive for gallstones and they got me into the surgeon last Monday and put me at the top of his surgical rotation for Tuesday morning.  He didn't want me at the mercy of an ER and a surgeon who might not be "band knowledgeable", so treated it as urgent.  Of course, as with my band surgery, something they use on my skin, gives me a horrid rash and itchiness.  The doc didn't use steri strips this time, but just glue and no bandaids.  It could be the glue, but if it progresses like last time, I am in for a few weeks of irritiation...
How are you doing???
