My 1st fill

I had my 1st fill yesterday so I am on liquids for 48 hrs, but I am STARVING!  I mean my stomach is growling even after a cup of soup.  Nothing seems to be satisfying me.  Is this normal?

I think that sounds pretty normal.

There are a couple of things to consider...

First, not everyone obtains restriction after the first fill. Secondly, the lap band does not change the overall size of your natural stomach. Even with restriction, liquids should be able to move on through the band and your stomach pretty quickly.

So, the liquids are just moving right along through your system. You probably will be hungry until you move on to some type of solid food and get an idea of what kind of restriction your fill has given you.

I had my 1st fill yesterday also my Dr told me 24-48 hrs on liquids I did well on the liquids for the 1st 24 hrs so thought  I would have some mushy  but apparently it was too soon for me because I had my 1st ever stuck episode and thought I would never stop vomiting.  I would not ru**** even if you are feeling hungry maybe try a protein shake.   Good Luck

You need protein in your body to feel satisfied my nutritionist says. I would call your doctor and see if you can start sooner on some pureed foods. Also, protein shakes are really good sources of protein. Good luck!

 God I know that feeling. Drink your liquid protein. thats what get you a little more satisfied. and the sugar free puddings help too.
