A pre-emptive post
I love my band. It has done for me exactly what I hoped it would do and at over 5 1/2 years I am very content. I believe that the band can work and does so more often that some give it credit for. But I am not blinkered.
Some people abuse their bands and it is their doing they don't lose weight. I don't say their fault as psychological factors can be just as important as physical ones and who am I to judge people who cannot stop eating round the band?
But equally people have surgical complications, medical complications, physiological complications. For them, there is no blame attached whatsoever to their lack of success.
A few successful bandsters, however, believe that almost all "failure " is self-inflicted. These people do not help anyone. Obese people carry enough guilt without adding to it. So if you post to ask for help and you get a response which makes you feel inadequate, please don't be upset.
And do remember, what you read on here is from people you don't know! They may well give incorrect information.
This thread has not been sparked by any other post but I have a feeling that it may arise in the near future.
