Slip without pain?
I have had my band for five years. For the last six months I have really had no restriction. I went to the doctor after six months and had gained ten pounds. Since then (six weeks more) I gained another ten pounds. I have no pain but I don't ever get anything stuck anymore. I don't feel like I have a band anymore. Even one of my children asked if I had it taken out. I also feel hungry all the time. Could my band have slipped? What could cause this?
Well, I am not an expert, but I think slips are frequently accompanied with stuck episodes. I am not sure about the complete loss of restriction. It could be something like a leak. Hard to say exactly with such limited information.
Definitely call your surgeon and get it checked out.
In the meantime, do your best to stop the regain. I had trouble with my band and ended up regaining about everything I had initially lost and it is no fun having to start from scratch.
Best of luck and keep us updated!

You need to check for erosion or a leak, I am not a doctor, but I have never heard of band slippage with no symptoms since I had my band placed 7 years ago.
Another tip, frequently drinking sodas or carbonation will stretch your pouch, I never believed this, over the years with my band, every time I drink one soda my band will loosen up and every time I stop it will get back tighter, hope this helps.
