Two years out

I haven't been on-line for awhile and thought i would check in.

Two years ago this week I got my band and it was the best thing I've ever done (other than marrying my hubby). I have gained 10 pounds this spring / summer, but I am pleased to say that 7 of those pounds are gone. I think the hardest part of this whole journey is learning to be really honest with myself. The weight gain happened because I was in denial and doing things I knew I shouldn't but telling myself otherwise.

It's also been a good lesson just how quickly old habits can come back and new habits can be lost.

But looking back... It's been a great ride!

 Congrats.
What your saying really rings true.
If we let up our efforts for one second the we see those old habits creep back.

You have done a fantastic job working in uncharted territory. It is so great to have the band there to help out when we have gained a little. Congrats!

Unchartered territory is a great way to phrase it!

Congrats to you!  I'm 8 months out and everyday is still learning and understanding that habits can come back quick and planning and being honest with myself will help me continue to be a success!  I am loving my band!!!!

Congrats on losing most of the gained weight!  I am also 2 years out as of this weekend .  About 6 months ago, I went in to have a slight unfill because out of the blue, I was getting heart burn and I freaked.  Well when the issue was resolved with the unfill, I decided not to go back and have any put back in (they took out 1cc, which was a lot for me because I didn't have much in there to begin with).....well today (6 months later), I went back for a fill because I finally had to admit that I'm having trouble sticking with only eating the qty I should be eating....I kept telling myself that I should be able to do this, "normal" people can eat a WHOLE sandwich, no problem, so it's okay that I can now too....WRONG - between being able to eat more than I was eating and also eating things I knew I shouldn't be eating at all - I've gained 15 pounds since my last visit 6 months ago.  So I totally relate to being in denial - and starting today - I chose to use the band as it was intended and get a small fill (.5 cc) to get the help that I clearly STILL need!

Wishing you continued success :)
