Cravings?

I just had my lapband surgery two days ago, on the 12th. I've been having cravings for solid foods ever since i've been home, which is very frustrating. Did anyone have this problem/have a suggestion as to what I can do about this? I'm afraid of slipping up.

This is the toughest time but I can tell you it is so worth it to tough it out---stay committed---follow the doctors orders to the letter so you don't endanger your band.  I have lost 70# since my December surgery and feel amazing.

Welcome to the rest of your life---you can do it--hang in there!

I just had the band over bypass on the 11th so I am right there with you.
Try not to watch too much TV because every other commercial is for food and even if you didn't like that before your mouth will water for it now! LOL!
Try to stay as busy as you can,  the feeling will pass eventually, keep in mind that this phase does not last forever but hopefully your band will!
Good Luck!

I had to do liquids for 3 weeks post op.  I know how you feel.  For me, variety was key.  Make sure you are getting in all of your protein shakes and then fill in around with other things.  I ate a lot of SF popcicles and SF jello.  I also craved salty so I drank beef boullion and ordered Wonton Soup, (just the broth) from the neighborhood Chinese restaurant.  I got really tired of sweet flavors and fruit flavors so the savory broths were very helpful.  I also drank the Swiss Miss 10 calorie hot chocolate and a variety of flavored zero calorie waters and iced and hot tea.

Whatever you do don't progress your diet earlier than your surgeon recommends.  You don't want to endanger yourself during this healing period.  Even though you may be feeling really well your body is still healing and eating solids can be dangerous.  You would be amazed at how much your stomach has to move to digest food!

You can do it!

Best~
