Thank you, I actually bought Jean's Bandwagon book a few weeks ago and I have read it. When I decided to have WLS I had no idea which surgery I wanted to have. So I started researching gastric bypass and went on to research the other WLS's. They all had complications, but the complications that may potentially come with lapband are complications that I am willing to risk. I know fully well what I am getting into. I was just caught off guard when I went to the support group and the only WLS represented was Gastric Bypass! I realized that I will have to find another support group but it will be a bit further from my home. I think it is good to participate in support groups after something like WLS and that's all I am looking for. I am just preparing myself for the journey because I know it is going to be a huge lifechanging event.

I'm glad you are doing your research and I wish you the best possible results on your banding.

That coordinator needs to support all WLS choices, not just the RNY.

If you can't find a local support group, I'd like to suggest the Smartbandster list on yahoo groups.
