oh i hope your grazing on liquids or full liquids melanie.
i don't mean to alarm, but advancing your post op diet can be dangerous - long term.
you should really follow your post op diet & maybe call your dr or dietician to help with the grazing, now and for the future.

This journey requires commitment. Our disease/compulsive behaviour got us here and we have to change everything to get to that new place. I work alot at a computer at home. I started following the food plan for 2 weeks before surgery. Fixed the small 5-6 meals a day and consumed water, crystal lite and decaf coffee between to get to the 60-80 ounces. I was so busy focusing on "practicing" my post op food plan and eating my meals that grazing didn't come into it. When I'd get restless and want to graze I'd get up and go outside and get some fresh air and sunshine to "shift my gears"
Besides---I was self pay and that $10,000 represented a HUGE investment in myself and my future. I have to protect that investment and do a lot of self care. I started out at 265 (top weight of 285) and have released 70#.
Best wishes to you

Hi,
I work from home as well. I sit on my bum in front of the computer 5 days a week. I lost 100lbs in the 1st year. I did this by living by the clock. If it was not time to eat, then I went and got some more water. I do not keep any food in my office but always have a water bottle on the desk.
Tips that have helped me.
1. Office is upstairs away from kitchen
2. Never eat at my desk. I try and have breakfast and lunch out of the office.
3. Set a eating schedule. I try and eat no later than breakfast by 9Am, Lunch no later than1pm, snack at 3pm, dinner 6pm, cup of tea no later than 7pm then water until bed.
4. Try and take 30 minutes to eat the meal. I was always a fast eater pre band, and that is why I overate and never felt full.
5. Always have and only take pre planned snacks in the car. ie 100 cal almonds, prunes or another small fruit, string cheese, or a protein bar. I never allow myself to get too hungry. That is when I will grab a chocolate bar at the super market and ram it down my gob.
6. Take a walk outside at lunch time. Even if it just to get the mail. If the weather is bad you can do some exercise in you house
7. Log you food - every morsel that goes into your mouth. I like www.mydailyplate.com and still use it to keep track of my food intake. There are others around but I have always liked this one.
Just remember calories in calories out - you need to move.
Best of luck on you upcoming surgery. Take it one day at a time.

I too have printed out the tips that you gave. Thank you for posting about www.mydailyplate.com. I went to check it out and it is so helpful. I think this website will help me to be better about being more accountable with myself and what I am putting into my mouth.

Thanks so much for sharing these wonderful tips. I'm struggling with the grazing myself.
