Fevers and kidney cancer

Last year I posted about having fevers and feeling ill in the mornings.  I got lots of suggestions, and promised to post again when I found out what was going on.

It turns out that feeling sick in the morning had nothing to do with my band surgery.  After seeing my primary doctor and an infectious disease specialist, I got a CT scan and they found kidney cancer and a large mass on my thyroid (biopsy results inconclusive).  I'm having the kidney removed on Tuesday, and the thyroid will be removed once I've recovered from the kidney surgery.

So, if something seems wrong, please keep trying to get to the bottom of it.  It may or may not have anything to do with your band.  See your primary doctor and see if there are any other explanations.

I'm wishing you the best with your surgery. I hope it all goes well. I'm really sorry you're going through this and I wish you speedy healing, Joanne.

i am so sorry for your diagnosis & wish you a peaceful recovery.

i've said before & your post is really a great PSA - you can have a problem & it not be band related......seek a medical diagnosis & use these forums as a guide only.

Thankyou for posting this. I've survived breast cancer and I also have a mass on my thyroid that we are watching because they can't get a biopsy to check it because it is so full of blood vessels. So we are just keeping a close watch on it. We have to be activists when it comes to our health and not everything is band related.
