My surgeon's PA made a similar remark to me. I was indignant at first, but gradually realized that she was right, and she certainly didn't mean to hurt my feelings.

My little bathroom scale is the biggest tyrant in my house. I weigh myself daily because I don't want weight to sneak up on me, but it takes some work to keep the numbers on the scale from ruining my day.

You say you've gained 8 lbs. Since your surgery, or since you moved to solids? 8 pounds seems like a lot to gain in a short time, which makes me wonder if it's fluid retention, not fat gain. I can gain 4 pounds overnight when my sodium intake is high. To gain 8 pounds of fat and/or muscle, you'd have to eat 28,000 calories extra. I mean, you'd have to be really working at weight gain to eat that much!

8lbs in 2 weeks  I do not weigh myself only when I go to the Dr's office.  I THOUGHT I was doing EXCELLENT and then went to my internal med Dr for a check up and that's when I saw what the scales said  I could NOT stop crying.  I came home and got on my scales to see what they said and sadly it was the same number.  I do not weigh myself daily or weekly because I know that I would obsess over it.  Since I have high blood pressure I have always watched my sodium and use fresh herbs to season my food instead of salts I do not eat processed foods or frozen dinners ect since being diagnosed with high blood pressure I am very conscious about my sodium intake.  I only have one kidney so I am very cautious when it comes to sodium.  I am just going to keep eating healthy and hope that I start to lose instead of gaining.  I go to my Dr next week for a follow up & hopefully my 1st fill

You may be extra sensitive to sodium.

Hang in there, sweetie!

thank you so much   I feel good I guess that I should count my blessings I am not sick, getting stuck or having any other problems like others are having.   Other than intolerance to hot and cold items I have absolutely no problems.  As long as it is room temperature I am good to go :)
