she's going to block everybody and have a positive experience!

once upon a time I had a group to talk about Binge Eating Disorder, and later one about Clean Eating.

PM me if you are interested in either of these.

Hey, wait. Are you blocking me? I didn't say anything bad about the band....

And I have a question about the band and pregnancy. Do you have to do anything special while you're pregnant, like have the band unfilled or something? Just wondering about that....

You THOUGHT something bad about the band, though. Admit it.  kasondra doesn't want any of that kind of stuff going on around here... where she rarely ever posts... but when she DOES, she wants it to be HER way. You comply now!

Since kasondra deleted all her posts, I guess we'll never know if I "took things the wrong way" or not, huh?  I mean, I don't USUALLY tell people to shove it up their asses for no reason.

you are normally the ultimate epitome of calm support and you turn the other cheek. but, a person has to vent sometimes.

No. not preggers at the moment.

But I wondered if you can continue to lose weight, or have to stop the weight loss while preggers and just maintain, and if you can eat enough to stay healthy and feed the little munchkin too......inquiring minds, yanno!

Congrats on the beebee.

Just because I'm up late, and needed a good laugh, I decided to dive in here.

But, out of the all the posts, I wanted to let you know I'm 28 months post-VSG (revision from the band that nearly killed me), and well here I am about 22 days away from delivery.

There are specific things you HAVE to do in pregnancy. You can not be in ketosis, you have to have your vitamin levels checked and maintained, you have to eat 200-500 more calories per day depending on your "early on pregnancy weight", for example; my popped positive  at 130lbs, and my recommended calorie intake is 1700-1800 calories a day with 100gr of protein 100gr of carbs, and 80-100oz of pure water. My maintenance calories were 1400-1500 calories so adding 200-300 calories is not that difficult being this far out from surgery, and I was in maintenance for nearly a year before I popped positive on the test.

As for VSG, it has not complicated my pregnancy in the least. I have a lengthy medical history with a genetic clotting disorder that effects my platelets, and some other stuff like my age, my prior abdominal surgeries, that make me high risk. Tatum is perfect, and she is not "high risk" at all. She has met every milestone while in-utero. So, it's my body that is a big hot mess.

I have gained a solid 30lbs which is right where the doctors wanted my gain to be. I have had a completely uneventful pregnancy thus far. Now, that we are so close to delivery(repeat csection is scheduled for November 1), I am having to take prednisone to stimulate my platelets. Anyways, enough rambling. I just thought I'd share my Pregnancy/VSG experience for ya!
