Lapband pulling feeling?

I am 6 years post op with lapband. I have recently started feeling a tugging feeling where my port is. It litterally feels like a painful, fast pulling sensation. I cant really relate it to anything specific such as certain movement or anything. Has anyone experienced this? If so, what caused it to happen and what did you do?
Thanks in advance

I only feel a pulling where my port is when I do certain exercises.  So I readjust my position.  If ur still in contact w surgeon's office, ask them.  Hopefully someone on this site will have a good answer for you.  Best wishes, Z

I have read over the years that some people need to have their port moved once their weight has gone down.

Use a heating pad and also check with your dr.

Good luck!

I have recently lost an additional 17 lbs and have been doing alot of exercise, could this have caused the change? What if I no longer want the port at all? It saticks out like crazy and now is painful? Has anyone had theirs removed?

When Ihad that feeling it was due to a flipped port.  Certainly hope that isn't the case for you.  Mine was so bad it resulted in a 2nd surgery to replace my old port.

There are stitches holding the port to the muscle so maybe the extra weight you have lost has put more pull on the muscle. I doubt any doc would remove the port, they MUST be able to access it in case of an emergency need for emptying the band. You could see about the newer low profile port, they aren't supposed to show as much. I'd say a meet with your doc is needed to determine which way to go.

Thanks for everyone's help, I was banded in Mexico, so its always a hassle to have to see a Dr.

You can go to a smaller less visible port. Did you establish a doc here for fills? Who does the your check-ups?

I go to someone fairly close for fills, but last time I went to Mexico because the guy I was going to a.) doesnt use flouro so just was basically shooting in the dark
b.) charges me a fortune everytime I go no matter what he does
Seems like another trip to Mexico is in my future, as this tugging feeling continues...bummer
