so yep im SOL and cant swallow my own spit
This happened to me too and I called the doctor and he couldn't get me in so I drove the 2 hours to the office and they still couldn't get me in so I went down to the emergency room and had to pay a $275 copay for the ER visit, but within 15 minutes they had the doctor there to do my unfill. Since he was in the hospital and in between surgeries they had him paged down there as an emergency. I was already beginning to get dehydrated so they said I needed the unfill because I couldn't even swallow my own spit. I know how miserable it was and I am sorry you are going through this!!! The ER doctor that was there said he was willing to try to do the unfill himself if they couldn't reach my DR. He actually watched my DR do the unfill so that he can do it for someone next time. It was all very frustrating!
yep i tried dr holloway usually does my fills his office is the only one close and after many calls today and a failed ER visit im done. Ill try again tomorrow morning and if they insist Monday again I will just drive the long drive to colorado where I had my surgery origionally done and find my relief there. But for now back to it grrr!
When you finally do get to see the doctor, you need to tell HIM how the office treated you, most of the time they have no idea what is going on with the staff unless you tell them. This is completely unacceptable 1) b/c it is putting you in danger physically and 2) it could do permanat damge to your band.
I went though this once very early on in my banding and when I told the doctor he got so mand he stormed out of the office and gave it to the staff right there in front of me! Speak up, and keep calling!

Commence the massive throwing of a fit and, if that fails, head to the ER. This is NOT OK for your surgeon's office to treat you like this.
My surgeon came in on Thanksgiving day to unfill me once!

Banded 03/22/06 276/261/184 (highest/surgery/lowest)
Sleeved 07/11/2013 228/165 (surgery/current) (111lbs lost)
Mom to two of the cutest boys on earth.
You need to talk to a patient representative at the clinic/ER that you went to! That is totally unacceptable. The patient representative is someone that will get to the bottom of the situation as to why you weren't helped ad why you were sent home during an emergency. If this would have happened in the hospital that I work in, heads would be flying across the room. NOT ACCEPTABLE!
OK I admit I'm a hot head but I would start documenting EVERYTHING and threaten a lawsuit if I am not treated with in 24 hrs. because this is extremely dangerous not only to the band but to you too. I would also show up on the ER door step everyday for fluids until I get an unfill. DO make sure you let the doc himself know because they have NO clue what is going on in the office if you don't tell them. I got a gal fired once because I knew I had a blood clot in my leg and she tried to tell me she could get me in 2 weeks later WTH?! I called a surgeon I had seen recently who sent me to the hospital immediatly where I stayed for a week with guess what? A huge blood clot! I wrote my doc and sent it to his house address and the next time I went in she was gone! So be the squeeky wheel!!! This is nothing to mess with!

I agree with Hislady begin documenting everything calls words spoken etc and if any issue get a damn good attorney as they know that a tight band is not good and can cause permanent damage.
The makers of the band know this as well as any surgeon that places the band. You have been blow off and needs to be addressed!
In the meantime. Small warm liquids sips! good luck!
