First fill
I had my first fill on Monday. I must say I was nervous and it felt a little weird and hurt a little - though it was nothing that I couldn't handle. My doctor did say somoeone scheduled me too early after surgery (they like to wait 6 weeks and I was at exactly 4 weeks post-op) but he said since I was there he would do it.
Afterwards I met with the nutritionist - and she asked me was there something wrong - or had I been hungry because I had a pretty aggressive fill. I have a 10cc band and for my first fill my dr. filled it 4 cc.
Is that normal??? or I was thinking maybe my dr. was not pleased with my weight loss so far. I was banded on Aug. 26 and am down 25 pounds so far...but I started out as a big girl wieghing 328 before surgery. I will say that I do not think I'm too tight I have good restriction and I am able to eat a little less than a half a cup of food.

every doc is different on fills . My doc will not give aggressive fills he dont believe in that . He would rather do small fills .
And I just think eating less then a half of cup of food per meal is just not healthy but that is my opinion. If I cant eat at least a cup of food per meal and my doc likes us to have a snack just so our calories dont get to low for our bodies. He prefers his patients not to eat anything less then 1100 calories a day. He will take saline out of you if you cant eat at least a cup of food per meal. He does not like anything less then that , but that is my doc and my NUT.
I have been reading up on calories and such things and there is quite a bit of articles out there that says if you stay to low on calories for a extended amount of time it will actually hurt your metabolism in the long run. and you will either have to eat more to get your system right again or even eat less which is not healthy . I learned that from the articles and a friend on here that has been successful with her weight loss .
Just becareful dont let your calories get to low , its not safe or good for you :o)

Don't worry, each doc is different. My doc says liquids then mushies after a fill, for the first 3 or 4 days, then soft then regular foods. Just be vigilant about how you feel. Be sure to be you're own advocate. If things feel right they probably are, and if it feels wrong then it probably is. Good Luck!
